What to Expect

Since 1950, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has held Crusades all across the globe for one purpose: to proclaim God’s love to people who need Jesus Christ. Today, Celebrations with Will Graham continue this life-changing mission. A Celebration is not just an evangelistic event; it is a process of prayer, training, outreach, and follow-up that takes place over a 9-month period—and it begins and ends with you, the local church.

The Avalon Celebration of Hope three-night outreach event at the Mile One Centre on November 2-4 will consist of:

  • Friday, November 2, 2018 – Kidzfest for families and kids aged 3-12
  • Saturday & Sunday, November 3-4, 2018 – All ages

This is a non-ticketed event with free admission.

Benefits for Your Church

Here are seven ways a Celebration of Hope can benefit you and your church:

Prayer Without prayer, we could not survive as Christians nor would we ever hold a Celebration. Every aspect of the Celebration directs believers toward prayer—determined, heartfelt, ceaseless prayer.

Evangelism Training Many committed Christians have never shared their faith because they don’t know how or they are afraid. The Christian Life and Witness classes teach Christians how to effectively and confidently present the Gospel. The classes also prepare believers to pray with people who come forward at the Celebration.

An Action Plan for Witnessing Christians put their learning into practice through a bring a friend initiative called Be an Andrew. After participants identify family and friends who need to know Jesus Christ, they commit to pray for and build relationships with them—leading up to an invitation to the Celebration, where their friends and loved ones will hear the message of salvation.

Spiritual Renewal As Christians prepare for the Celebration, bring friends and family to the meetings, and worship with other believers, the Lord can bring renewal into individual lives and congregations.

Engagement for All Ages From children to seniors, there are many opportunities for all ages to confidently participate in evangelism through Celebrations.

Christian Unity The church is never stronger than when it is united with one common goal, to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lasting relationships and bonds are formed in the development of the Celebration that unite churches in the community.

New Christians in Local Churches The Celebration process is designed to bring new believers into churches where their spiritual growth is encouraged. New Christians add vitality to congregational life and worship.

About the Celebration of Hope

Celebration of Hope is a ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all we can by every effective means available to us, and equipping others to do the same.

“Telling someone else the Good News of Jesus Christ is one of the greatest privileges I know, for when others hear and believe the Gospel, their lives are changed forever. It’s also one of our greatest responsibilities.” -Will Graham

The Celebration of Hope will culminate with a multi-day evangelistic outreach and concert event November 2-4, 2018 at the Mile One Centre. The Celebration will feature a children’s event, Christian musicians and other artists, dynamic video testimonies, and Gospel presentations by Will Graham, who will invite attendees to commit their lives to Christ.

Our heart’s desire at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada is to work with churches and the Christian community. We know the Celebration of Hope’s success hinges on prayer and the involvement of churches, children’s & youth ministries, Christian business representatives, and leaders with a passion to see people come to Christ and grow in their relationship with Him.

Who is Will Graham?

“I’m not trying to be the next Billy Graham; I’m just Will Graham. I have a burden in my heart to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If that’s to an arena full of people or one person on the street, I will do whatever God is calling me to do.” -Will Graham

William Franklin Graham IV (Will) is an ordained minister. Will is the grandson of Billy Graham and the oldest son of Franklin Graham, and he is the third generation of Grahams to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ under the banner of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA).

The first of Will’s crusade-style events – called Celebrations – took place in 2006 in Leduc, Alberta, Canada. Since then, he has held evangelistic outreaches on six continents around the world. Last year, he held a Celebration of Hope in Charlottetown, PEI.
